+geochicken
I had the opportunity to vacation at Cozumel, Mexico this week. Flew down on USAirways. On the first flight, I asked the captain if it would be ok to use my receiver. He said no problem, just wait until we are at 10,000 ft. It took about two minutes (Explorist 600) to lock in on enough sats. This was too cool. Showed we were cruising at about 530 mph. Anytime they made a change in direction, I would lose my lock temporarily but would get it back in a minute or two. I did have a window seat but could set the GPS'R in my lap or on the tray table and it worked fine. I used it on three other flights during this trip with no problems. As an added bonus, I was able to find two caches while on the island. Quote Link to comment
+ChileHead
AirTran hasn't allowed me to use it, and generally I fly AirTran. Quote Link to comment
+Crabby Lady
It is better to ask forgiveness than ask permission. I used my GPSr on Spirit and I think Delta. Had it on the window ledge and no one made any comments. Never thought to ask for permission. LOL Crabby Lady Quote Link to comment

It's much too sensitive these days, and could wind up getting you in jail! Quote Link to comment

Only if you are rude or do something stupid like inist that the GPSr isn't harming anything and refuse to turn it off if they ask you. Quote Link to comment
