watchman
I have the latest version of GSAK loaded on two computers (one at work and one at home). I have the version at work setup the way I want, databases, layout, etc. What files and or folders should I copy to bring to the home PC and "make it the same" as my work PC. I tried the data folder, but that dosen't include all the information. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Joe B. Quote Link to comment
+Gary and Mary Adventurers
Clyde is very good with giving support, and he has answered this one a couple of times before. The easiest method I have seen is to copy the entire contents of the GSAK directory from the machine that is setup like you want to the other machine. Others have installed the GSAK program onto a removable USB thumb drive and had that work on any machine then. BTW I think GSAK is the best thing since sliced bread :-) Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
I think all you have to do is File/Backup. Then you copy that file over to the other computer and do File/Restore. I have my desktop computer configured differently, with different partitions, than my laptop, and that worked for me. Quote Link to comment
+Right Wing Wacko
I do something similar. I have GSAK on my computer at home and my laptop. I just do a "Backup" on the desktop to a USB Flash Drive, and then do a restore from the laptop. Works like a champ. Quote Link to comment
+Gary and Mary Adventurers
Backup and restore will duplicate all of your database settings, but I think that it does miss some of the look-and-feel settings. But once you have both machines setup in the same manner, backup and restore will keep them sync'd Quote Link to comment
