Magellan Meridian Sport Trak Topo

Does anyone have an opinion on the usability of the Merisport topo GPSr? Conteplating a new purchase and I presently use a Merimarine and like it. Thanks for the help.

I assume you mean SportTrak Topo

 

I have no experience with it, but it does sound nice, it also includes Mapsend Topo 3d if I am reading it correctly.

 

When I purchased my unit about a year ago, this was not available, but I went with and probably still would go with a merigold.

 

However, since you already have a meridian marine, I would say to just get the mapsend topo 3d and put that on an SD card for the marine.

Do you mean the Sport Trak Map running Map Send Topo software or do you mean the Sport Trak Topo GPS?

It would be the GPS. I just thought it would be a bit more convienent to have the topo pre installed if I was just out and about. When I priced the topo software and considered the deal for the overall unit, I thought from a financial point it would just make sense to get the unit with the software which I could also use for the Merimary unit. Or just possible, I'm just justifying my want to purchase. ah a day without a justifycation is just a day lost. Thanks for the help.

The resolution of the topo maps built in to the Sportrak Topo are a lower resolution than the MapSend Topo maps.

Yea, I kinda figured it might be from when I tried it out. but I figure I will have the software as part of the package and thereby upgrade the definition better and also use it with the Marine. Thanks.
