Land Hogs
Just purchased a Platinum and was wondering if anything more than 64 MB card is too much. I found a good deal on a 128 MB card. Is more better? Quote Link to comment
pbarr86
My view has always been get more and not need it compared to buy some and need more later. Paul PS I love my Platinum : ) Quote Link to comment
Land Hogs
1 128 MB card? Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I was able to fit the topo map of all of northern NJ, NY east of the Delaware and north to Albany and southern Vt up to Rutland on my Legend's 8 meg of memory. 128 meg? I bet you can get all of Alaska and Texas on there! "It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues" - Abraham Lincoln Quote Link to comment
+headmj
Buy as much memory as you can afford. I jave my 128mb card full. I have something like 10 states in it! I also store tracks and waypoints and lots of other stuff on there Quote Link to comment
Clown Knife
I have a 128Mb SD card now. One cannot have too little memory for maps in my opinion. I have California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and parts of Idaho on my card. That takes up about 110 of the 128Mb. Because you have to take out the batteries to change the card, might as well get a big one! Right? Happy hunting! Quote Link to comment
+Jamie Z
Yeah, changing them is not entirely convenient... although it's simple. I wouldn't plan on having a stash of switch-em-out cards. I'd plan on having one big one. I bought a 32-meg with my Meridian, and then a 128-meg when the price dropped below $100 (geesh, now they're like $60). My plan was to keep my local area on the 128 and use the 32 for roadtrips.. but thus far I've never used the 32-meg since I've gotten the 128-meg. Jamie Quote Link to comment
Mossy Oak
I’m paining a trip from New Hampshire to Florida in February; does anyone have an idea how much memory would I need for a Meridian Gold? I planning to have only highway maps only, no topo maps. Quote Link to comment
Clown Knife
The deal is to buy a 128Mb SD card. You can get them for 50 bucks on sale. Plenty of memory and the price is right. Don't sweat the 32's and the 64's. Quote Link to comment
Land Hogs
$39 (after $15 rebate). But the offer ends today!! Sorry, I should have posted this earlier. ecost.com Quote Link to comment
