I fly, I use it, It's fun It actually calms me down too, I HATE flying it really freaks me out and somehow I find comfort in knowing where I am, how fast I am going and how high I am. It makes me a better passenger

I always wear my Merrells Paul

I just flew on Northwest from Providence to St. Paul and St. Paul to Albuquerque and my return flights were from Phoenix to Detroit and Detroit to Providence and I used my GPS the entire time and never tried to hide it. I just propped it up on my tray pointed it out the window and it worked great. None of the flight attendants said anything about it. It was very cool seeing how high we were and how fast we were going also the route they take to get from point a to point b. (for the record, I didn't have it on during take-off and landing) Paul

I was w/ someone last Sunday that just bought a Legend. We were doing a cache in a state forest and I would say about 75% of the time his GPS had no satellite contact and kept telling him to “go to clear skies” (something like that) My GPS (not a Legend) had constant contact w/ at least 4-5 satellites at all times. There were a lot of tall trees around but at this time of the year there aren’t any leaves on them yet. He figured once the leaves came in he would get zero contact 100% of the time (at least in the woods, worked great in the car and in open area) He just returned his Legend and ordered a different GPS, After reading some reviews it does seem that the Legend and the Vista have weaker antennas then some of the other Garmin units (at least in tree cover) Just telling you my experience, do with it what you will. Good luck and have fun, Paul

IM LOOKING FOR INFO ON HOW TO BUY GEOCACHING PRODUCTS.

For me it's not really about the stuff in the cache it's the hunt for the cache. I spend my days on computers, I spend my nights on computers, it's the one time that I can get outside and play with a computer. The "trash" on the inside is just for goofy fun (for me anyway.) The more stupid an item is the more I like it, I'm a big fan of the little green army guys. I guess if you don't like the trade take/leave nothing. There is no rule that you have to leave your stuff. Just my 2 cents, Paul Happy Caching

Add me to the EasyGPS list, I don't it could get much quicker than that. Paul

You can get it real cheap on EBAY but it most likely won't be an original CD but a burn copy. Ask the seller 1st if you are concerned about getting a "legal CD" Paul
-
I wish, that would great. I'm just a bit too far away. <--That's me, I'm going to check to see if there are any of those ATV caches near me. Paul

Poll: How are you going to spend your Tax Refund???
pbarr86 replied to GOT GPS?'s topic in General geocaching topics
I'll use my refund for vacation in April. Which could lead to my first cache find on the other side of the country : ) Paul -
How many caches in your 100 mi. radius.
pbarr86 replied to maleki's topic in General geocaching topics
Only 885, not too bad considering I lose some of that 100 mile radius to the ocean Paul -

Winter is SLOOOOOWWWWINNNNG us down in New England
pbarr86 replied to WaldenRun's topic in General geocaching topics
Hey Waldenrun, The weather has stopped me, I just hate the cold AND the snow. I think your swimming hole cache was the last cache I found. AND, your new Gum Drop cache is so close to my house that I could walk there I just can't bring myself to go out in the cold snow. I tried to find the Swiss Family cache after the snow came I searched for 2 hours and couldn't find the first part. PLEASE bring me the spring!!!! Paul -
WOOHOO, happy new year. Where will the caches bring me this year????
-
I got my Platinum and went out within the 1st hour of getting it (1st time GPS user). BUT, I did 2 things first, 1. I read the owner’s manual online before it came in the mail and 2. I picked the easiest/closest cache to my house. Have fun, Paul
