gkcp
CAUTION "NEWBEE"!! I would like to download waypoints and all other GPS info to a program other than the EasyGPS (this program is not compatable with my system) I use and prefer Delorme Topo USA v.4 software. Is there a way to set waypoints/info to download directly to that program. EasyGPS does NOT work on my computers. HELP PLEASE! I am very familiar with Garmin 12 and computers but do not want to use Easy GPS THANKS! Quote Link to comment
+Olar
This is the sort of thing that these two applications do.GeoBuddy or GpsBabel At the present time GeoBuddy will only open .loc format download files. I believe that GpsBabel will handle both .loc & .gpx Cheers, Olar "You are only young once but you can stay immature forever" Quote Link to comment
+Desert_Warrior
convert .LOC, .GPX, and .XML. And it is much more functional than EasyGPS. Mike. Desert_Warrior (aka KD9KC). El Paso, Texas. dsandbro
Another program to try: Waypoint + http://www.tapr.org/~kh2z/Waypoint/ There is also a freeware extension for ArcView 3.x called GarminGPS (or something similar, I am pulling that from memory and don't have ArcView loaded on this computer). This extension converts Garmin points, tracks, or polys to AV shape files. Search the ESRI site in their free downloads link. I haven't heard if there is a ArcGIS 8 version yet. ======================================== Friends don't let Friends geocache drunk. Quote Link to comment
arcadesdude
Another program: G7toWin http://home.attbi.com/~g7towin/ It can convert between many differnet formats. I use it to back up my gps data and save to cvs format for ms streets and trips. --Ricky Cobb Quote Link to comment

And does EasyGPS not work or do you just not want to use it? Quote Link to comment
+dwmurphy
has a drop down menu that allows me to "download from GPS". I would assume that other programs that can upload waypoints should be able to download waypoints too. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here. +Prime Suspect
Just a tip for the future - when asking for help, supply the obvious information that would assist others in assisting you. For example - you tell us how the software won't work on your computer, but neglect to tell us what kind of computer it is. Quote Link to comment
+CWL
You can download the .loc file and open it with MS Excel delete the unessary fields and save it. Open MS MapPoint and plot the caches with thumb tacks just like this: The blue pins were where a moving cache has been. Quote Link to comment
