Approvers

What is the story on approvers? How are they selected? Are they assigned a certain territory? Is there a list of approvers and their regions? Just curious.

They are selected by GC.COM based on their experience, knowledge of local rules and regulations and history of working with the authorities in their area to promote geocaching. They are assigned regions they are familiar with and there is no master list that is available to us. It changes constantly.

By the tone of some of these forum discussions it seems like it can often be a thankless job.

I heard through the grapevine.

That a new requirement of all future approvers will be a skin thickness test.

For future reference, I don't want to be an approver, I was just curious.

TennesseeGeocacher is handling things quite nicely in my neck of the woods.

Actually, you have to remember that reviewers have to drink the Groundspeak milkshake as a prerequisite. It thickens the skin, but others have differing opinions as to what it does.
