  1. I just bought a Magellan Roadmate 1430 and discovered that it doesn't come with an AC wall charger. Maybe one of you guys knows......can I use the AC wall charger from my cell phone for this? Both tips are identical. Mini USB I checked the back of the AC charger for my cell and the back of the car charger that came with the GPS to see if the output is the same. This is what it says GPS car charger- output: 5VDC/1.0A Cell phone wall charger- output: 5.0V --- 550mA (there is a solid line under the 3 dashes ^ but I can't type that) I'm not very electrically inclined but I know enough to know that if the output is different that it can fry the device. I'm just not sure if this is compatible. I don't want to have to pay 20-30 bucks for a wall charger if I already have one that would work.
  2. Minnesota has all kinds of these. Even a full featured movie on the big one. 10k prize money. The Saint Paul Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt started in 1952 and is sponsored by the Saint Paul Pioneer Press newspaper. The first medallion hunt featured a treasure chest, which was worth $1,100. Through the years, the prize has increased to its current level of $10,000. In 1988 the medallion was changed to lucite so hunters with metal detectors would not have an advantage. Don't kid yourselves this is a professional thing. People sells mapbooks, guides, work in teams, take vacation, have expensive shovels, rakes, hoes, etc. Many other towns in Minnesota do this as well for lesser amounts ($50-$2500). Many Minnesota geocachers are from "medallion hunters". I have done this kind of hunt in over 20 different towns in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

  7. Following the MnGCA Elections on 10/8/2005, any future participation in MnGCA decision making requires that you be an MnGCA Member in good standing, which includes that you agree to the Bylaws. Over the last few weeks, functionality to facilitate this requirement was created and went live on the MnGCA website. With the short notice for the upcoming elections, it was decided by the 2005 MnGCA Board to not require that MnGCA Members update their accounts to be eligible for the 2006 MnGCA Board elections in the fall. Anyone, as of 6/9/05 at midnight, listed as MnGCA Members were eligible to vote. Following the MnGCA Elections on 10/8/2005, any and all future MnGCA business requires that you be an MnGCA Member in good standing, which includes that you agree to the Bylaws. There is no “Grandfather Clause” or retroactive behavior. Every individual that would like to continue as an MnGCA Member in good standing must manually agree to the Bylaws on their cacher page here: http://www.mngca.org/register.php (you must be logged in to the website here: http://www.mngca.org/login.php for this to work). You may also verify your agreement at: http://www.mngca.org/register.php On December 1st, 2005 at midnight, all users listed as MnGCA Members that have not agreed to the Bylaws will be switched to “Cache Games Only”. On May 1st, of every year, anyone who has not logged into the MnGCA.org website in more than one year will be automatically reverted to “Cache Games Only” to purge our voter roles (if you save your session in a cookie when you log in this will only require that you visit the MnGCA main page to reset your last visit date). This has also been cross posted to the main page here: http://www.mngca.org/articles.php?strArtType=12&strArtID=107 If you have any issues with attempting to agree to the Bylaws please contact the MnGCA Board here: http://www.mngca.org/board-contact/

  14. Beer= the Social Lubricant It allows us to loosen up when we indulge with moderation and respect, while it also inspires us to be our true selves. Too many of us go about our daily lives suffocating in our own uptightness, in a constant state of worry, focused on work and not life, being nitpicky and oblivious to the wonderful people and moments that surround us. Too many people never take a break to sit down with a pint of their favorite, to look over at the person next to them and say "hello," to make a connection -- an important connection. or you could ask to host an official "get sauced" event....need to ask "silent bob and marsha"
