+Algy
Hello Firstly I'm a little over one week into this addictive pastime. Secondly if the topic has been raised before I apologise in advance. Now I have a Garmin 12 and want to down load waypoints to it from GSAK but I am encountering problems which are sending my non-electronic brain into spasms! I received today the garmin serial cable and have connected the G12 to my PC, followed the set up garmin/garmin host etc but when I try to send the wpts from GSAK I get: Error sending waypoints GPS-Packet_read:No DLE Garmin: can't init COM1 I've tried entering com2 3 4 in the setup with the same results. What on earth am I doing wrong? How do I fix it? or where do I go to find the answer? or am I doomed to manually enter the waypoints! Alan Quote Link to comment
+Team Ullium
You need to supply more information....such as which flavour of Windows are you running? Windows XP is a wee bit different from previous versions such as Millenium and 2000....not to mention 95 and 98!! Also, you might try removing the installation software and re-installing it again! markandlynn
Go to you options menu and click the fix windows me freeze problem box and it should be ok. Better off posting this in this forum i believe that Clyde almost lives on the site!! Quote Link to comment
+Algy
Thanks for the replies. I've tried both Windows XP, and 98 on my laptop without success. The same message appears. I don't have any installation software for the Garmin. Do I need some? I have installed GSAK again without improvement. I will try the thread you suggest. Presumably Clyde is the author. Many Thanks Alan. Quote Link to comment
+Algy
Just an update. Found problem. Loaded garmin upgrade to the firmware taking it from 4.58 to 4.6 and hey presto now have waypoints on the 12. Regards Alan Quote Link to comment
