Etrex Legend With Easy Gps

Hey all Im new the geocaching and really dont know that much all about it. I got the garmin etrex legend and it came with a serial cabel. So I hooked it up to my computer, see if it needed any updates(it didnt) checked the connections and it said it was ok. Then I configured so that i could use it with the EasyGps software. But when Im connected to the Computer I can click send till Um blue in the face and nothing at all will happen. What am i going wrong?

When I first set up EasyGPS with my Legend I had lots of trouble getting it to work. I played around with it for a while and eventually it started working. Not sure what I did though. Wish I could be more specific.

I had lotsa trouble too, never could connect w/ EasyGPS. Found my way around the problem- bypassed it.

Did you 'add' the gps so easygps knows what its talking to?

You said the connect is ok, did you use easygps to test the connection??

One thing you might want to try is to make sure that nothing else is using the com port you've selected as well.... Do you have any other serial devices on the computer? Palm pilot, mouse that sorta thing?

 

Also make sure that the Legend is set to GARMIN in the data selection screen.

 

I recently set up a new Legend on my laptop and it worked with that setup but Easy GPS can't talk to to the Legend if I have it set to something other than GARMIN (which I found out after changing the setting to get it to talk to MS Streets and Trips )
