+Pieman
I am from the UK. On a recent trip to the US I was amazed at how many travel bugs were logged into a cache but were missing. At one TB Hotel 6 out of the 9 logged in bugs were missing! I noticed the same thing in about 5 diffeent states so it didn't seem to me to be a single state thing. I have done over 50 UK caches, but as yet have never come across a missing travel bug. I'm not sure if this is a cultural thing or what. Is this normal that bugs go missing so often in the US? +ZackJones
One way to get those TBs removed is to email the folks at contact @ Groundspeak.com and ask them to remove them. They've been very good at processing lists I've sent. Zack Quote Link to comment
+fly46
The question is whether or not the bugs were missing for a long time. Oftentimes in the US people on cache trips don't log bugs in and out for a while. Quote Link to comment
+AuntieWeasel
It's fairly common, yes. Though more often than not, it's sloppy logging. Somebody picks them up, doesn't log them, holds on to them a month or so, drops them without logging, and up they pop some place totally unexpected. Usually in the hands of a puzzled newbie, who doesn't understand why he had to 'grab' rather than 'retrieve.' Sadly, though, a fair number do vanish forever. Quote Link to comment
