+Midway Cafe
Ok here is my problem and I'm sure that someone can help. I've done a bit of research but am very confused by all the options. I'm hitting the road for a couple of weeks in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, (needless to say I'm going to cache when possible). I would like to be able to save my tracks from the excursion and there will be no computer available. Is there a way to save the tracks to a PDA? I'm currently using a Geko 201 and a homebrew serial cable, but I'm willing to consider changing my setup if necessary. Thanks for your input. MC Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
GPilotS will do this on Palm PDA. For more information have a look at My Webpage Quote Link to comment
westgate
For pocket pc, you can try G7ToCE, which is free, or you can try oziexplorerCE. please let me know your results. I am having trouble with the communication between the gps and the pda when the gps interface is set to "garmin" mode. Quote Link to comment
+Jamie Z
Sounds like the other folks have answered your question quite well... I was going to suggest a Magellan Meridian which will hold virtually unlimited tracks, and depending on your PDA, you can copy the track files using an SD card. Jamie Quote Link to comment
+NightPilot
If you have a Palm, Cetus will save tracks on it. Cetus is freeware, and very good freeware at that. Quote Link to comment

coureur des bois
GPilotS will do this on Palm PDA. For more information have a look at My Webpage Thanks to PDOPS. I tried GPilotS and it is a good product. It makes easy to back up your GPS info after a day trip. An other question: how could we put thoses informations in our PC without uploading them back to the GPS ? What interface ? Thank you, Jacques Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
An other question: how could we put thoses informations in our PC without uploading them back to the GPS ? What interface ? Thank you, Jacques Use the Host function of GPilotS. This allows your Palm PDA to emulate your GPSr and download directly to your desktop computer without doing a Hotsync. This is especially usefull for dumping the data directly into mapping programs like Ozi or Fugawi. GPilotS has settings under the options menu for emulatiing various Garmin Gpsr's Quote Link to comment
