dumbo
hi we are new to geocaching, and after having a very unsuccessful day trying to look for 2 caches we wonder if we are doing something wrong? (we are yet to find our first one!) Can anybody give us any tips, we looked at each site for over an hour. Please help Quote Link to comment
+Team Neos
How about adding a link to the caches that you were trying to find? That would give people a way to offer suggestions for those specific caches. Our mistakes when we were new included: 1) Not knowing how to set the waypoint into the GPSr and navigate to it. 2) Having the tracking on (which cluttered up the map on the GPSr) 3) Not having the GPSr set to the correct datum 4) Thinking that looking for a cache was a lot like looking for a set of lost keys, and that when we saw the cache we would recognize it for what it was! We looked right at some of the caches without realizing what we were seeing! Quote Link to comment

+Team FUBAR
Stick to 1's and 2's diffaculty till you get a few under your belt. After you get some more experiance they will come easier to you. Quote Link to comment
+Robespierre
This happens pretty often, and I always say: check the regional forums where you live, which you can find on the main forum page down low, and post a note. It would be pretty easy in many places to find a partner for a day to show you the ropes. Quote Link to comment
