Mapsource Maps, Uploading, Etc.

We will be going on vacation to Seattle next week. I have picked out maps to upload to my GPS for the area and I have marked waypoints for places we want to see, our hotel, etc.

 

I am using City Select 6 and a Garmin 60cs.

 

If I upload that mapset I created (with my waypoints) and then upload caches from a Seattle area pocket query will my original waypoints be deleted or just mixed in with the caches I load?

 

I'd rather upload caches using a pocket query but I can do one by one if I have to!

Mapsource is incapable of deleting waypoints from your Garmin GPS. It will only add to those that are there (and update any with the same name AND symbol). As far as I know, the only real way to delete waypoints is to do so in the GPS.

When you upload maps, you overlay the maps that were in the GPS. It's a complete replacement.

 

When you upload waypoints, it adds them to the ones that were in your GPS.

Don't forget if your original waypoints are NOT 'caches to select a different symbol, or things are going to get real confusing, real fast when you upload your PQ! (Oh, and don't forget to pack your umbrella and galoshes!)
