Posting A Find

New to Geocaching. Found several this weekend in the mountains. Great Family fun!! But now, what do I do?? Don't I have to post the find somewhere??

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! Thanx bunches!!

Go back to the individual pages for the caches you've found, in the upper right is a "banner" to "LOG YOUR VISIT" Click that, it'll pull up another page. There's a drop-down menu to select log type, (Found, Did not find, note.....) select the appropriate one. Add some interesting comments in the box below, and click "submit"

On-line logging is not required, and some 'cachers never do it, but it is a good way to keep track of your 'caches, share your find (or DNF) with others, and let the 'cache owner know that he/she is being appreciated. Welcome to the addiction!

Logged my first find as described below. Even emailed owner of find. However, could not figure out how to add pics to either email to owner of cache or to log entry. HELP!?

Go back to the cache page for the cache that you found. Find your log entry. Click on the link that says "upload an image for this log." There is also a photo upload link on the separate page for your log entry. This allows you to add the picture at the same time you write your log, without having to return to the cache page.

Thanks, got it. How about adding pics to email link to the cacher?

It's not possible to email photos through the GC.com mail feature. I suggest you 1) get their direct email address so you can send them as attachments or 2) upload them to another website and send them a link to the photos.

or adding pics to the log entry so other dachers can see them. (remember no spoilers)
