I am having a problem while looking though nearest cache pages. The first page of 20 cache loads and I return to it after viewing a cache. However, if I view a cache on the second or subsequent pages I can not return to the list of caches. I get a page that says:

The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.

If you would like Windows to try and discover them,

click Detect Network Settings

Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.

If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.

Click the Back button to try another link.

Cannot find server or DNS Error

Internet Explorer

When I refresh I go to page 1 of nearest caches.

I did not have a problem with this until a couple month ago. When it first started I could refresh and view the 2,3, etc cache list page now it goes back to the first page 1.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

The dns errors are caused by the heavy load and the browser times out on it. Are you on a modem? This could make it worse. This web site has a real heavy load world wide so timing is everything - no set time to be good for any time zone best I can tell. Ithink your settings are ok. A modem would just make it worse for the timeout.

I get that not available must reload error all the time on many of the pages when I click the back button - then you have to click to refresh - then click yes I want to download it again. In order to avoid having to use your back button do the following:

when you get your list of caches you want to view - hold down the shift key when you click the link to open a new window - after that just drag the link to the second window -

Now - if you run your windows such that they are full screen this will not work - you need to be able to see part of each window no mater which is on top so you can drag the link to the 'view' window and then click the list page to bring it back on top.

For you purists, yes, you could do it by using the task bar buttons in full screen mode, but then you can't drag the link - you have to do a copy and paste to the address input box.

I use a modem, usually connected at 40.0 Kbps.

I was getting the not available must reload error and being prompted to reload the page about 2 months ago. However, I am no longer receiving anything except the page cannot be displayed page.

Thank you CompuCash. This tip will help out a lot. if I can not get it back to bringing pages up when I hit the back button.

I am still confused why it has just stopped working for me. I have been using the sight since Oct, 03 and it has worked fine until the last 2 months.
