Cache Photos Request

I really like browsing the cache photo gallery. Many,if not most digital cameras

are now mega+ pixels,but most people just keep shrinking the physical size of the

photo til they get below 100k.

You can resize the photos to 800x600 then use a compression program,like a free

copy of JPG Wizard to keep it 800x600 and reduce the file fize.

There are many photos posted from all over the globe of scenic places but the posted images are often small. This is a example of a 2mp resized to 800X600 and compressed to about 90K. Sample gallery photo

Thanx, SeaTrout - that's helpful and timely - I was just struggling with distributing 70 pics from a recent geocaching weekend, and each pic is 1mb+ or so...this should be a great help!

i downloaded the program but didn't realize you had to pay for the full use. This looks cool but there are alot of photo editing programs out there you can buy.

800x600, eh? I had been resizing my uploaded pics to 600 as the maximum dimension, not 800. The "tips" section of the upload page still say 600 pixels wide, is it really 800?

Something like gallery would be nice, if they could incorporate it.

You can have users sign up, add their own pics, browse by categories (I suppose one could be set up for each cache), etc. They even offer a print service link, that's turned off in mine though.
