+Tring1
I have a Garmin Etrex and the PC cable. Could someone please provide me with detailed instructions on how to download waypoints from the Geocaching site. Also would like to know if it is possible to load street maps onto my unit. And then the next question would be were do you download the street maps from Thanks for all of the help, without forums like this a lot less people would try GPS. Quote Link to comment
+blindleader
I assume you have figured out how to plug the etrex into the computer. That should be in the manual. The next step is getting the waypoints down from Groundspeak. Assuing you are logged in, just click on any [download wayoints] link and save the file on your disk. Lots of different software packages will work with that file and communicate with your etrex. Go here and take your pick. The easiest way to start is to download EasyGPS. Explore the menus to learn how to configure everything and come back here when you get stuck. Quote Link to comment

The only way to get a map into the unit is with Garmin mapping software. Quote Link to comment
