You are correct I did read it wrong, sorry. First I dowloaded the software and then I sent the cache information to my GPS unit. I think we need to clarify something. Are you visiting a cache page, like God College Micro and clicking on one of the buttons near the top: LOC Waypoint File GPX eXchange File Send to GPS Send to Phone Or.... are you doing something else? from another program (like GSAK)? ~Ariel As shown in your photo I am clicking on download to GPS

I have been away from Geocaching for awhile and am not sure how to download a cache to my GPS. I have a Garmin etrex and attempted to download a cache, I received a message that the cache information was sucessfully downloaded but I don't see it listed under waypoints on my gps. Help please

I am trying to convert street address to latitude and longitude. I found a site that would convert them, but they don't seem to be in the same format as my Garmin etrex uses. Her is a sample of what is in my GPS: N41 35.160 W090 21.456 What came up on the web site is 41 35 20.778 90 21 46.116 How do I come up with the N and W numbers?

I have an etrex Legend and am having a problem with the find button. When I go to the main menu and go to find and press the joystick button the highlighted area reverts back down to Accessories. Some times I will go back to find ten times or so and it will still not work. Usually if I scroll through the pages and back to the main menu it will then work. I might add that sometimes it will work the first time. Do you think it is something that I am doing wrong or is there a problem with the unit?

Thanks to all that helped in choosing a new unit since I have given my Etrex to my son. I understand that the Legend has maps included. Can it also be used without them, on other words, can you use it the same way you use the Etrex?

I had the basic yellow Etrex from Garmin and have passed that unit on to my son. My question is what model do I want next. I liked the Etrex but wanted a model that was Waas enabled. I took a quick look at the Geko 201 but it looks like a toy. I would like a model with at least as big a screen as the Etrex, Waas and possibly one that would allow me to display street maps, but since I would like to stay under $200 the street map may be out of the question. I also want to stay with Garmin. Please send me your suggestions. Thank you.

I am not sure exactly what I did. I went to MapsOnUs and got my driving locations, transferred them to Wahoo.com then to Easy GPS and downloaded all of it to my GPS unit. It now shows under the letter D and there are 20 seperate waypoints. Are these 20 points directions step by step to where I am going? And if I don't want step by step can I just jump to the final waypoint and follow that to where I am going. As you can tell from this stupid question I am new at this and have found this is a great place to get me questions answered. THANKS TO ANY THAT ANSWER!!

I have a Garmin Etrex and the PC cable. Could someone please provide me with detailed instructions on how to download waypoints from the Geocaching site. Also would like to know if it is possible to load street maps onto my unit. And then the next question would be were do you download the street maps from Thanks for all of the help, without forums like this a lot less people would try GPS.

I have a Garmin Etrex. I went to the Maps on Us web site and got the Long/Lat for a location which came back as 87.90174 42.16202. I entered the 42.16202 OK but when I tried to enter the 9 in 87.90174 I found my Etrex only allows 0 thru 5 for the third digit. I'm sure there is a simple answer, but being new to this I am note sure what that simple answer is.
