+Kite and Hawkeye
I saw this post on a couple caches in the Point Reyes Park. Don January 28 by PORE (2 found) Illegal cache removed by Point Reyes National Seashore/National Park Service. It is illegal to place caches on National Park Service property. Caches have long been forbidden on National Park Service land. I don't know if the caches you're referring to were recently approved... but if they were, they must have slipped through by accident, because the ban has been in effect for quite some time now. +Renegade Knight
I'm not sure if they are illegal specificly. They invoke some pretty broad rules to make them "illegal" but its clear that the NPS doesn't want caches on the lands they manage. So did they log a find on the cache they removed? +TeamJiffy
Yes, they logged a find pointing out that the cache was removed. That makes them more reasonable than many who have removed caches. But not all. There was no pointer to a place the owner could go to retrieve the cache, no names were given, etc. Quote Link to comment

It may not hold up in court, but I would still hate to be arrested. I believe something like that has happened or was at least attempted. Quote Link to comment
