Then afterwards I start seeing occasional scrambling of the screen. Seems to come and go. Seems to stop when I turn the backlight on. Any body else experience this? Quote Link to comment

You might try doing that from the Garmin site, as there are lots of bug patches there since they released your version. Quote Link to comment

If it keeps up. email garmin for service. Even if the waranty has expired they might fix it for nothing. If the warranty did not expire, they definitely will fix it for nothing.
