BeachBuddies
Somewhat off-topic, but: I noticed several cachers who print their own "mailing" labels, and use them to "sign" logbooks and such. I would like to print some to stick on film-canisters with trash bags in them (for CITO; got that idea off some forum post I think). Anyway, I haven't been able to find any decent software for printing mailing labels with graphics. I can print simple text no problem, but I'd really like to add some simple graphics. Can anyone suggest some software (hopefully some shareware I can download to try)? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
rusty_tlc
Microsoft Word works great. There is a cheap progrem called LabelMaker Pro (MySoft) that I use to label products works great for a $30 program. Quote Link to comment
BeachBuddies
Thanks for the tip. MS Word did work, eventually -- took me a while to figure out how to get the graphics into the label. There may be a better way to do it, but here's what worked for me: 1) Create a new document. 2) Insert your graphics and text. 3) Select the contents of the document. 4) Use the Tools -> Letters and Mailings -> Envelopes and Labels option. Here's a pic of what mine looked like: I used "Cooper Black" size 44 for the CITO, and "Comic Sans MS" size 14 for the other text. Quote Link to comment
sbell111
Alternatively, you can choose <Tools> - <Envelopes and Labels> first. Then click on <New Document>. You can then create your super cool label and copy and paste it to make a whole page of it. A great CITO label was shared by someone in a previous thread. I think I still have a copy of it, if anyone needs it. Quote Link to comment
MrPeabody
I prefer the Avery DesignPro. It works great and allows you to serialize the stickers very easily. Avery DesignPro Quote Link to comment
Fritz_Monroe
You can also swing by your local Staples, Office Depot, etc. They usually have a rack of really cheap software. It's usually about $10 or so. I've seen a label maker program there. If you want to download and use Windows, you can check Tucows They have pretty much any type of shareware software you could want.
