ricnic
I cant get my GPSr and Mac to communicate. It's driving me bonkers! Here's what I'm using: eTrex Legend IOGear USB to serial adapter OSX 10.2.8 Mac Simple GPS X or Terrabrowser The light on the adapter blinks like there is data being sent. But, Mac Simple GPS either cant see the GPS, or locks up, and Terrabrowser cant see the GPS. After installing the adapter software both give the option of "usb serial adater" in the port selection menu, but neither will see the unit. Do I need to change the protocol, or is the default Garmin fine? As this has been discussed somewhat before, I know there are others running this setup successfully. TIA for your help! +FarSideX
Are you plugging the USB to serial adapter into the keyboard or other USB hub? If so try plugging it directly into a USB port, the port on my keyboard does not provide enough power to drive the adapter (10.3 detects this, 10.2.8 didn't) Quote Link to comment
