Meridian Platinum

I have a Kodak 128 sd card for my platinum, if I run the "test card" function it prompts me to format the card. Then I go to "format card" hit enter and am prompted that all information on the card will be lost, hit enter again to say ok and most of my screen goes blank or it returns to the previousley viewed NAV screen. Run the test agian and it still asks for the card to be formatted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible that the SD card itself is defective? My 256 MB Sandisk card worked fine in my Platinum right out of the packaging, but I formatted it anyway, to test the function.

What version of firmware are you running? Versions older than 5.12 do not recognise large cards. The upgrade can be downloaded on the Magellan site

There is a batch of Kodak cards out there that are defective. Kodak knows of it and if you call them, give them the number off the card they will tell you if it's one of the defective ones. I'd suggest take the card back and get a different brand or at-least a different batch number.

Check your version of firmware first before you waste time and possibly money. Older versions of Meridian firmware only support 64meg.

Thanks for the responses. Natterjack hit it on the nose, I did the firmaware update and now the card is being read with no problems. Thanks again.
