+Team Galaxy
I've just invested in a Sony Ericsson P900 Smartphone, which runs Symbian OS. Does anyone know if (1) there is any GPS/Mapping software available for this platform? (2) Can I plug my eTrex Venture into it? (I haven't got the phone yet so still in the dark!) I want to do a sat / nav type thing if possible - something like TomTom but cheaper! Quote Link to comment
+kikifatz
I am thinking of buying a Sony P910i Symbian Smartphone. Can anyone help with information on Symbian GPS software now, 9 months later? kikifatz Quote Link to comment
+ian76g
well, maybe you didn't find out already: - only external bluetooth GPS is compatible to the SE P900 - I personally use nhGPS as software. (on the fly map downloads, automatic calibration) There are at least 3 other GPS software(s) for SE P900 that I tried and then removed later. I'm happy with nhGPS. http://www.nhgps.com/ Sebastian Edited July 27, 2005 by ian76g Quote Link to comment
JackiePenn
For my P900 I have "PowerNavigation" by SymbianWare , which seems to have all the standard features required. I do not use the P900 as a GPS... but it is there for a standby for when I haven't got the IPAQ. Quote Link to comment
+ian76g
I just scripted an own webpage that extracts MapPoint maps without any surrounding webcontents. This spares about 70kB on downloading a map. If someone of you uses a map download via cellphone, contact me for the URL. nhGPS can be configured to use this URL. I'm happy with it =) Quote Link to comment
