Gps Software For Symbian Os?

Recommended Posts

I've just invested in a Sony Ericsson P900 Smartphone, which runs Symbian OS. Does anyone know if (1) there is any GPS/Mapping software available for this platform? (2) Can I plug my eTrex Venture into it? (I haven't got the phone yet so still in the dark!)

I want to do a sat / nav type thing if possible - something like TomTom but cheaper!

well,

maybe you didn't find out already:

- only external bluetooth GPS is compatible to the SE P900

- I personally use nhGPS as software. (on the fly map downloads, automatic calibration)

There are at least 3 other GPS software(s) for SE P900 that I tried and then removed later.

I'm happy with nhGPS.

I just scripted an own webpage that extracts MapPoint maps without any surrounding webcontents.

This spares about 70kB on downloading a map.

If someone of you uses a map download via cellphone, contact me for the URL.

nhGPS can be configured to use this URL. I'm happy with it =)
