how would I do this

I had recently logged a cache as not found, but the cache was missing. The owner of the cache had replaced the lost cache and now I want to go back and find it. How would I go back and mark it as found? Would I delete the first post and then mark it as found or leave it and log a second visit as found?

Actually, either would work. It is up to you. And I commend you for posting a not-found log! Most people seem to not post a not-found. Some don't even post at all, found or not.

It is all a matter of what you want to see on your profile page. If seeing the non-found icon bothers you, delete it. If it does not bother you, then leave it.

Very often, the not-found stories are much more interesting than the found ones. Like the guy that got chaised away by the wild boar before he ever opened the cache.

Good luck....

This is from a thread in the ham radio section, but it is a copy of a log - not found! Hope you don't break a rib laughing!

The wild boar.

Enjoy it!
