+Team Sand Dollar
I have just started using a Palm 500 with Magellan GPS Companion with XMap Handheld plus Topo 4.0 maps. I have been looking at the forums and have found probable solutions for many of the downfall with this setup. At present this setup is just a toy and I use my 315 for caching The main issue I have is I find that the streets and GPS position indicator don't always match. When sitting at home the indicator on the map puts me about 200-300 feet north of the house. Are others experiencing this problem or is the some way to correct this. +Renegade Knight
Don't know your exact issue but the first thing to check is to make sure that your PDA and your GPS are both on the same Datum. Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment
+Stunod
I would guess that it is just bad map data. I have x-map also, and I have found many highways and even entire neighborhoods that are not shown in their true position...sometimes off by 300'. My Meriplat has the same problem (but not in the same areas - different map data sources, I guess). "Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand." Quote Link to comment
