N 39 46.326 is 39 degrees and 46.326 minutes. You can convert to seconds by multiplying .326X60. (39* 46' 19.56").

(By the way, Jona, I'm from the Indy area, too. Welcome to geocaching!)

On a PC, it's Alt-0176 on the number pad.

To make the degrees sign "º" press and hold the Alt key while you type the number 0186 on your key pad. Be sure to type all four digits. Then when you let go of the Alt key the degrees sign will appear.

I am going to have to remember that. I knew there must be a shortcut for it, but couldn't figure out what it was. I was always going into Word, inserting the symbol, then using cut and paste. Alt-0176 or Alt-0186 is SO much easier. Thanks!

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Got it.

Thnaks for the quick answer. I should have fiqured that one out... DUH...

I saw this hobby and am trying to put aan old Palm III xe to use. I have found the Rand McNalley street Finder GPS cheap and bought the GPSPilot Comapss program. I am close to IUPUI and tried the Web Cam site. I am sure I was at the site but couldn't see a name plaque. I will visit it later now that I can convert to Degrees minutes seconds.

Hope to use caching as a way to get excersise and back in shape.

You can also copy it (a lot of pages on this web site have "º" on them) and paste it where you need it.

Well, maybe if they screamed all the time, for no reason.
