+Renegade Knight
It's DDD MM.MMM your GPS should have that option, if not...I'm sure you will figure something out. Quote Link to comment
+sept1c_tank
N 39 46.326 is 39 degrees and 46.326 minutes. You can convert to seconds by multiplying .326X60. (39* 46' 19.56"). On a slightly different topic: Can anyone tell me how to make the little degrees sign on my computer? (By the way, Jona, I'm from the Indy area, too. On a PC, it's Alt-0176 on the number pad. Mushtang
To make the degrees sign "º" press and hold the Alt key while you type the number 0186 on your key pad. Be sure to type all four digits. Then when you let go of the Alt key the degrees sign will appear. ---------------------------------------------------------------- "A noble spirit embiggins the smallest man." - Jebediah Springfield ---------------------------------------------------------------- Quote Link to comment

Mushtang
Apparently either 0176 or 0186 will work. ---------------------------------------------------------------- "A noble spirit embiggins the smallest man." - Jebediah Springfield ---------------------------------------------------------------- Quote Link to comment

I knew there must be a shortcut for it, but couldn't figure out what it was. I was always going into Word, inserting the symbol, then using cut and paste. Alt-0176 or Alt-0186 is SO much easier. Thanks! -Junglehair I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken. Quote Link to comment
JonaMoses
Got it. Thnaks for the quick answer. I should have fiqured that one out... DUH... I saw this hobby and am trying to put aan old Palm III xe to use. I have found the Rand McNalley street Finder GPS cheap and bought the GPSPilot Comapss program. I am close to IUPUI and tried the Web Cam site. I am sure I was at the site but couldn't see a name plaque. I will visit it later now that I can convert to Degrees minutes seconds. Hope to use caching as a way to get excersise and back in shape. Quote Link to comment

+tozainamboku
I usually type ° to get a degree sign. It works on most browsers. By the way Alt-0176 is a degree sign. Alt-0186 is the Spanish masculine oridinal - usually a small letter o with a underscore but in many fonts it looks identical to a degree.
