Attila Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 It’s always a dilemma what to do with my old magazines. They’re still out on the store shelves (current) and of value, but I'm done reading them. Would it be kosher to put them in a cache as a trade item? (And for you folks who are wired different, I’m talking Natl. Geographic, Sci. American, etc – not girly mags!) "I've never been lost. However, I did misplace the camp for a few days." - Daniel Boone Quote
+JaimeeG Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 Hi Attilla I think it would be great to place magazines as trade items. I am an avid magazine reader, so I would find it a big treat to encounter a magazine in a cache..especially when compared to some of the garbage that folks leave as trade items. Jaimee Quote

The Artful Dodger Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 I placed a few mags in a cache of mine that accidentally got wet resulting in soggy, scrappy magazines. Perhaps a jiffy bag might help to prevent the mags from 'disintegrating.' ...but a good idea, nevertheless. Quote
+Team Gootz Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 Although the mags I seem to collect are Parents & Nick Jr... maybe I should trade those with my mommy friends! Quote

Attila Posted August 7, 2002 Author Posted August 7, 2002 Leave it to someone from Texas to drag it into the gutter. Thanx for your reply Mother Gootz. I can use my wifes magazines also! Quote
GrandpaCannon Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 Here in Utah County we have a theme cache just for magazines. I'm not saying not to leave them in another as well but you can find the cache at http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=9539 I'll be looking for your used magazines in other caches as well. +Team Screamapillar Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 It sounds great to me- especially special interest magazines like for tropical fish, civil war history, canoeing, etc. It's a great way to learn about something new. Quote
