Alphawolf
I just bought a new laptop without a serial port. What experience with converters have you had and which ones are working well. How much will I expect to pay? Garmin's own specimen is way too expensive at $60.00 (I wonder why anyone actually buys these at that price, but they do....) so I am looking for other top performers. Thanks. "Never take a sunset for granted. Stop what you are doing and enjoy it. You never know when it may be your last" Quote Link to comment
+Team DEMP
http://ubbx.Groundspeak.com/6/ubb.x?a=srch&s=5726007311&findw=usb+serial is a search here for that same info. I use a Delorme Serial to USB converter that I had from my old Earthmate and it works fine. Quote Link to comment

1jonboy
I have a USB serial converter that I purchased from Radio Shack. It is a radio shack bracd name, I think it was about $30. It has worked well for me in communicating with my GPS as well as many other electronics that I communicate with at work. Quote Link to comment
+robert
The RadioShack one is $39.99, item # 26-183 for 6 foot. Taking mine back, doesn't work with my Mac though the Keyspan I got on eBay for $10 does. ~robert Driver carries less than $20 cache. Quote Link to comment
