TNRonin
I helped a bud with his new (refurb) Merid Plat the other eve. We were attempting to upload the map information with no luck. Kept getting a memory shortage message. Thought it was the GPS. Well I happened to have an 8mb card laying around so I lent it to him. It worked then. He will be ok for a while but he will need to get his own card. I don't really need it at this point, but you never know. Here is the question: What is the best size to get? Ya I know bigger is always better, but there is a limit to what he acutally needs. We live in TN so he doesn't need something that will hold the western states info. TIA. vagabond
Memorys cheap I'd go with 128 megs at least All who look are not lost Quote Link to comment
+Stunod
I think the best bang for the buck now is a 128MB card. Look around a bit...you can find them pretty cheap. "Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand." - Homer Simpson Eamus Catuli AC005895 Quote Link to comment
+embra
I would add that 128MB is plenty of room. I've been living with a 64MB quite comfortably, but with prices structured as they are I would go along with the 128 recommendation. Max Often wrong but seldom in doubt Quote Link to comment
+T10X
I feel inadequate now, I only have a 32mb card. 16mb will cover the Great state of Ohio. Like the others have said, for a few dollars more the 128mb may be the best value. Quote Link to comment
+TotemLake
I've had mine for 9 months now and have yet to use half of the 128MB chip. Cheers! TL Quote Link to comment
TNRonin
That is what I thought, I didn't know if he really needed the 128mb chip. It don't matter to me, it's his to do with, but he asked me and I said I would ask the experts. You all put the gear to the test so you should know.
