+Tahoe Skier5000
The case is kinda beat up and the seal around the unit is all worn out... Anyway, garmin quoted me $125 which is the standard GPS III+ work charge I guess. Has anyone else sent their unit into Garmin for repair before?? If so, how did it go? More importantly, how fast is the turnaround? Using Opera 7.1 Quote Link to comment
+Brian - Team A.I.
For the cost, I'd have just considered using that as a secondary unit and purchased a BRAND NEW eTrex line GPS to carry around...one that has more memory (like the legend) for starters. Brian Team A.I. Quote Link to comment
+Tahoe Skier5000
thanks, but I had a Legend and didn't like it. Thats why I have the III+... Using Opera 7.1 Quote Link to comment
+Lone Duck
I recently had my GPS III+ repaired because of a ROM failure. They got it back to me about two weeks after I sent it in, as promised. It was shipped back to me via Air Express. You can speed up the turn around time by using a premium shipping service, but I sent it via USPS with a tracking number. I wasn't charged for my repair because the unit was not far out of warrenty, and it was a chip failure. They not only replaced the chip, they also replaced the antenna at no charge. Can't beat that.
