+Geokashers Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I downloaded for offline use about 20 PQs. Always seemed to work before. But recently....if I'm way out in the woods.....it doesn't work well if at all. And today, I was out in the sticks and all but two of my lists disappeared. They returned once I was back in civilization. So I cannot rely on the offline list use. Does this work for anyone that ends up far away from cell service? Is there a setting I'm missing? I'd rather not have to go back to using a handheld GPSr. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Thanks! Quote
+Carrotking Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Since 3 weeks, I am experiencing exactly the same problem: out in the field while caching, all of a sudden the app asks me to re-log in because I have to re-confirm your terms & conditions. When I do so, the app works again but all my downloads are no longer there AND all my settings have been re-setted. The nuisance is that if I am in an area with low telephone network receptions, I cannot download my bookmarks so that I have to stop caching & go home :-( In the past 3 weeks, I have deleted and re-installed the app 5 times - the problem still appears. Every time, I do that, I am treated as a newcomer (Telling me what a tradi / mystery etc. is). Looks like the problem appeared already in 2024 - and now again. I hope this problem will be fixed soon. We are about to go on vacation and I have prepared 15 offline lists I need to use ebcause we are travelling in remote areas. Quote

If you're in a hurry, yet have no access to a Garmin GPS, try a 3rd-party App such as Geooh Go or Locus Maps. For a long trip, I often load identical lists on 2 Apps, so if one fails, I can continue to cache just fine. Another App is a whole new thing to learn, but it's just until the Official App works again. I hate Geocaching Phone Apps due to these kinds of issues, always use a Garmin GPS for actual Geocaching, and use "Apps" for the extra functions when they work. Edited April 27 by kunarion 1 Quote
+Carrotking Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Thanks, kunarion, for your suggestions. So far, I never had such problems but it looks like, I will have to go for another app 🤷🏻♂️ Quote
+wowzrs Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I am having the exact same problem. It has happened to me several times over the past few months. The most recent time, I had zero cell phone reception and could not log back in. I also have two other apps and a GPSr that I will be taking on my trips when I risk having no reception. It seems to me that these problems with the geocaching app have only been for us Android users. It sad that it's become so unreliable. 1 Quote
