+Cacher_Penguin Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I have 224 finds under my belt. On my explorist gc, in geocache awards, the total find is 0 Zero!. But the geocache summary all the stats are correct. I've checked the geocacheawards.ini and .txt are both showing the correct stats. What's happened.? How can i get my total finds number back to where it is Quote
+kunarion Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 (edited) See if this helps (the very last post in the thread). A cacher manually logged Finds within the Magellan, until the device's displayed cache count was correct. Edited December 13, 2024 by kunarion Quote
robertlipe Posted January 5 Posted January 5 From that 2018 thread: "I have 3653 of those to do." I wonder if they've finished yet. :-) That's dedication to a number that doesn't really mean very much. ISTR that the Explorist GC actually exposed the tiny little Sqlite3 tables that comprised the app's internals. Perhaps I'm not sufficiently intimidated by such things, but I'd be inclined to wander around in the internal data structures—tables and columns were all named well and showed the original trigger sources and such—and find where that number is stored, and I suspect it IS stored, not a computed count(*) or something, and just change it. There are pointy-clicky sqlite3 editors around that might make that easier than it sounds, but it still may not be for the squeamish. I last used a GC almost fifteen years ago, so I don't remember details. It's worth a warning that the repair, recovery, and replacement options on these are not great, to put it kindly. If you modify a table in a way that the system won't boot, that's a bummer. 1 Quote
