Aldhizer
Which software should I get with the Meridian Platinum? The MapSend Topo, or Streets & Destinations? Do I need both? Eric Quote Link to comment
MACpa
you only need mapsend topo Quote Link to comment
+Stunod
Depends on what info you want. If you need to know where the next hotel or McDonald's is on your trip, get S&D. Both packages contain the same street map info. "Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand." Quote Link to comment
BajaTaco
As Stunod mentioned, the Topo software has the same street details that the S&D has. The only benefit I see to the S&D is that it has POI's (points of interest) for hotels and restaurants, galleries, shopping, etc. that the Topo software does not. However, I was really disappointed to find out that the S&D software does not have gas stations BAJATACO.COM Vibram or BFG - getting there on rubber and seeing it all! Quote Link to comment
+Jpjazz
I might add that the POI info is quite dated and can not be relied upon to be accurate. Quote Link to comment
chapy18
I use the mapsend topo and love it for areas with a lot of elevation change because it allows me to plan my routes better instead of going up and down hills. Plus I use mine for hunting and not so much driving. Quote Link to comment
