flynns77
Hello, My name is Barry Gordon, I'm a freelance feature writer for Scotland on Sunday. I'm going to be writing up a piece on Geocaching soon and I'm appealing to Scottish cachers (particularly in the Lothians) to help me with my feature: either as an interviewee or someone I can go caching with. You can contact me at: flynns77@hotmail.com Leave me your details and I shall buzz you back. Kind Regards, Barry Quote Link to comment
Silver fox
Well I'm up for it again Just hope I don't get slated on the forums for advertising caching but hey we could do with more cachers in Scotland Quote Link to comment

flynns77
Silver Fox - please get in touch with me, I've lost your phone number and email address. I'm going to end up doing the piece for the Sunday Post now, so please, please, give me a call. You can reach me on either: (0131)313-2521 or 0777-626-5625. Cheers, Barry Quote Link to comment
evilrooster
Yay Silver Fox! You've done well by us as a spokesman. I was going to volunteer, but my mobility getting to caches is not what it could be at present, with the bump and all. Flynn, please do give us advance notice when the article comes out so we can all read it....ta. evilrooster http://www.bookweb.sunpig.com -the email of the species is deadlier than the mail- Quote Link to comment
flynns77
I'd love to evilrooster. However, unless someone phones me by 2pm this afternoon we'll lose the thread and the opportunity to do a feature will be gone. Sorry, that's newspapers for you I guess. So, one last time: if you are interested in helping - in any way, shape or form - please phone me on either: (0131)313-2521 or 0777-626-5625. Thanks in advance, Barry Quote Link to comment
+Firth of Forth
Buy the Sunday Post on December 7th to read the article on geocaching. Hopefully we will see a surge in interest and activity in Scotland. Edited December 5, 2003 by Firth of Forth Quote Link to comment
DeputyDawg
FoF, Would it be possible to see copy of the article somewhere...my local newsagents have sent the old papers back, and am interested...website only gives nice walk around 'Auld Reekie' with reference to Greyfriars Bobby! Thanks as always, DD. Quote Link to comment
+Firth of Forth
I have scanned the article into the computer, and will have to send it to you. The picture (of me holding GPS and lunchbox) didn't scan properly I'm afraid. If anyone else wants to see it, let me know and I will email it. (But you will need to let me have your email address so that I can add an attachment) Edited December 9, 2003 by Firth of Forth Quote Link to comment
DeputyDawg
Great article for any other Cachers interested!... Watch the numbers rise as the Chrissy Pressies are opened later. Hi! Nice One FoF! DD Quote Link to comment
+Naefearjustbeer
Forgot to get the Sunday Post at the weekend but one of my workmates saved the article for me. Well done, the article was well written and showed the game in a good light (not too cyber geeky). I wonder when Oor Wullie will get a GPS Or even Pa Broon could manage to find a cache or two. I am sure the But n' Ben would make a good start point for a cache hunt. Quote Link to comment
+Firth of Forth
Thanks Naefear and DD. At least the article demonstrates that its not just a game for boys and their toys! I have already had an email from a reader who is hoping that his wife will give him a GPS for Xmas, but was going to rush out and try to find a few without one anyway. Quote Link to comment

+Team Bostik
Ahhh...Cousin DJH...he gets everywhere! Yes, good article FoF.... unfortunately most of the muggles I speak to reckon we are doing a 21st century version of trainspotting (with or without the anoraks depending upon the weather!) We'll educate them.... Quote Link to comment
