+klaus23
Dear Geocacher, My name is Klaus Gottsche (klaus23) and together with my friend Craig Harrison (craigsbar) we have set up a Geocaching e-group for Ireland. We are both living and working in Galway. I realise this forum is for the UK but given the proximity of the two countries and the travel between the two I am hoping some of you may be interested. In addition, Mr. Harrison is a proud Englishman. We wish to promote geocaching within Ireland and hope that this step is a move towards perhaps a dedicated .ie website, geocaching get-togethers and more. Should you not wish to take part, please ignore this post. If you have further questions, please respond to the post or contact me through my profile and I will get back to you as soon as possible. And if you are interested in joining the group, take a trip to the link below. As you will be able to see the group is moderated and will be initially open to all interested. Hopefully the group will develop into an interesting resource both for geocachers resident in Ireland and for geocachers who are visiting here. Yours in hunting small Tupperware boxes, Klaus and Craig http://groups.yahoo.com/group/geocaching_ireland/ Quote Link to comment
Ben Pid
I think Ireland should be allowed its own forum on Groundspeak! who agrees? -------------------------------------------------------- www.buckscaching.co.uk Quote Link to comment
+Omally
More power to your elbows, fellas! I have my roots set in the South of England so I won't be joining, but I do wish you luck! "Woof" quoth he. Oh, and "Grrr" also. Omally Member of the GAGB Quote Link to comment
+klaus23
We've tried! And more than once. They say there isn't enough interest. Possibly right- there are around 80 caches in Ireland which is strange given the remote and beautiful countryside, and the amount of foreign visitors here. Either way, we're off to do it ourselves. Feel free to come along: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/geocaching_ireland/ Quote Link to comment

Point of information 137 at the last count (and a few labelled UK caches.[my old hobby horse]) check here for a quick map. Well worth a trip to this side of the pond for the intrepid. It's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Quote Link to comment
