How do I navigate app changes?

Dear all,

 

Please help. I've been geocaching with my daughter for a few months. Today, after a two-week break, I've opened the app, only to learn I had to log in (never happened before). After logging in, it became clear to me that the layout of the app has changed.

 

The first obvious change is that there are no grey caches, in spite of us not having premium membership.

The second, much more troubling change, is that the Navigate button has disappeared when I click on a cache. I am only given the option of Log geocache. I've tried and tried but there is no way for me to activate this feature. This means I cannot really find the cache using the satellite as I used to. What happened? Is this a "paid for" feature now??

 

Thanks for any explanations...  I was hoping to be geocaching for the rest of the summer with my little one and this is an unwelcome surprise.

From your description, that seems more like how the Geocaching.com website works, than the official Geocaching App.

 

Do you have more than one Geocaching App?  Can you post a screenshot or the steps you take to get to the screen with no Navigate button?

I use the official app quite frequently, for both Android and ios. We have not noticed any significant changes. 

 

Like kunarion said, it seems you are describing the website which you can still access from your phone through a browser. Is this possibly what you are doing when looking at a geocache page?
