Ad Lab app freezes GPS signal every time I open a different app, requiring me to close the app and restart it frequently.

I have a Pixel 6a with Android 14 and I always update the ad lab app before I use it.  When using the Ad Lab app, if I have to swap to a different app or lock the screen, it freezes the GPS in the phone and the displey of where I am on the map.  So the app and map display say I'm not moving and the app won't trigger the next stage even when I'm standing next to it.  Thsi has been happening for a few weeks.

Is anyone able to help regarding the problem I am having with the app?  The forum appears to be a self help function rather than providing access to app experts or app developers.
