Trackable found on the ground, what now?

Hey,

 

So I found a trackable on the ground, and it's look like it's not one of the one that is supposed to be on the cache

What do I do now?
I can't manage to find anything on the site, I can't find the page to reverse lookup from only the code on it (it starts by CE, I managed to somehow see it on the Android app but can't see how to do that on the web version)
The FAQ also have no information about it, do I write it as missing? Do I log it saying I grabbed it from another person? On what page can I even do that?

You can use the trackable code and log it as "Grabbed from somewhere else."

 

If it is currently listed.in someone's inventory, they may just be a little behind in logging. It's OK to hang onto the bug for a while and give them a chance to log it as well.

On virtually any page on the website, on the top toolbar, "Play...Trackables" and enter the "CE..." code in the search box.

 

That's how find it. You can also directly go to https://www.geocaching.com/track/

I didn't notice this page, got a bit mixed up by the multiple others ones such as https://www.geocaching.com/track/search.aspx or https://www.geocaching.com/my/logs.aspx?s=2, but thanks for the link

This happened to me once. I found a packet of several trackables on the ground on the way to do maintenance on my geocache. I asked the last person who had found it if they were missing any trackables and sure enough they had been searching everywhere for them! 😁
