It worked okay for me a few hours ago, when I added an FP to a cache I found today using the Add Favourite function on the cache page, well apart from it showing 1 FP from 1 find as <1% FPs but it's been doing that since last September. It's still there. The old log experience has the checkbox mentioned by you. The new log experience uses a heart icon (hover or click on it) bottom down left of the log window.
