quote:
...sky watchers should be alert for auroras during the nights ahead. High-latitude sites such as Alaska, Canada and US northern border states from Maine to Washington are favored, as usual, but auroras could descend to lower latitudes when the CMEs sweep past Earth. Oct. 28th is the most likely date of impact.

These pictures were taken from my apartment in North Vancouver on Oct 29 at approx 00:30am. Direction was roughly East-North-East (true). I've lightened (increased the gamma) on the pictures because I noticed on my work monitor that they were a bit too dark. (Camera was set to a 15 second exposure.) This was the first time I've seen the Northern Lights and it was truly amazing to see! icon_smile.gif

Great pictures! I've tried the last couple of nights to see them from Richmond but the light pollution over the city is too bright.

I love frogs. They taste like chicken. Yum.
