Can I 'discover' my own trackable?

I bought a trackable decal for my motorcycle.

I have no trouble 'visiting' caches with it but can't 'discover' it.

 

I'm pretty sure this is by design but it leaves a ton of miles off my odometer.

(I realise the trackable wasn't designed for my personal odometer but it would be nice to 'park' the bike in a log by 'discovering' it at my current location and gaining those round trip miles)

You can't discover your own trackables.

 

"Discovering" adds no miles to the odometer. "Visiting" a cache, does.

I thought about the whole discover part after I posted.

Makes perfect sense vs a visit log.
