TEKHD
Hello, I am looking to get into geocaching and just have a quick question about this one GPS I was looking at. All I need to know is if this particular model of GPS will give me directions on roads out of the box as I would be using my car to get to the rough area of the cache. I'm in the U.S. if that helps and I know this seems like a stupid question but I have found conflicting information other places. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
No. You'd need to add map data that includes routing information for your country. See the FAQs pinned at the top of this forum for advice on getting mapping data for your device. Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
Well, doesn't the Sx come with the topoActive basemap? Is that not routable? Edit: Yes, yes it does, and yes, yes it is routable - roads and trails. So in answer to your question, the GPSmap64sx is routable out of the box for your needs. +Atlas Cached
The GPSMAP 64x series includes TopoActive routable mapping. Read more about it here. Edited August 7, 2019 by Atlas Cached Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
I humbly stand corrected by two of the Forum's best. My knowledge here is aging out. Thank you and sorry. Quote Link to comment
