+GreyHams
Hi, I am soon to be traveling to a region for many reasons and I wanted to host a CITO in the area as a form of payback and just because we like CITO's. My partner and I have hosted multiple CITO's, and usually it is no problem. However, we have been rejected and one of the reasons given is that our planned CITO is potentially "Too close to a Mega". To be honest we did not even know about the Mega (dumb of us, I know!!), but the location of our CITO was 70 miles and 90 minutes drive away. I have looked into the rules about 'side events' but these all seem aimed at events and CITO's very close to the Mega. ( https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=23&pgid=663 ) Is 70 miles too close between a Mega and a CITO? Thanks Quote Link to comment

+TriciaG
I would say it's too close, yes. If people drive hundreds of miles to attend a Mega, they're going to drive 70 miles to attend (and overwhelm) your CITO. Quote Link to comment
+Goldenwattle
I have been to MEGAs where they also hold a CITO. Seems fairly normal to do that, so I don't see the problem. Actually, could the 112kms be a problem in that it is too far from the MEGA and would take some people away from it. If it were closer to the MEGA it could become a MEGA activity. +coman123
Hosting a CITO on the day of a MEGA is considered event stacking and is frowned upon. Try relisting on the next day or the day before and you should be find 1 Quote Link to comment
