+GinaNMike Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Hi Forum! Im new to the Geocache community but im loving it! Hoping to get some tips on those high up..hard to reach caches. Ive encountered two so far that would require some sort of "grabber tool". One being way longer of a reach than the average one you can buy at Home Depot..etc. Has anyone made one themselves? or used other items from home...etc? Any help would be much appreciated! Quote
+coman123 Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 I carry a few sections of copper pipe with fittings on each end so they can screw together, I carry them in an old tent pole bag. I also have a couple different ends for it. Quote
+L0ne.R Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 I once used a tall sapling to get a cache about 12 feet up a tree. Luckily I was in an old cedar forest with a lot of dead saplings to choose from. Quote

Curious, what are the D/T ratings? Not all "high up" caches are meant to be simply plucked out of a tree. Some require climbing ... either free-hand, technical rope use, or a ladder. Quote
