ALASKA Cachers

I would like to say a big hello to everyone in the Pac NW from Alaska. We are really enjoying the sport here. Could I get the serious Alaska cachers to post a reply and let me know if you are caching in the snow? I have great plans for some new caches this summer, and can't wait for the snow to melt. Stay tuned!

I found this site back when there was one cache in Alaska and came back to check it out a week ago.

 

Been lurking in the mean time and figured it was time to register and get serious.

 

Thought I'd go ahead and gather information before getting a GPS unit around the end of the month and practice around town before I head down the highway to BC in May.

I have plans for a family fly-fishing trip in Katmai in July, and will have a one-night layover in Anchorage. I'm hoping to get some caching in during that brief stay (heck, it'll be light into the wee hours then, right? ). I'd love to have a chance to put one of my geocoins into your Coin Collection Cache, Durango!

Yes, We still cache in snow..

But it is much more difficult.

Thus it's not done nearly as much as in

summer.

I'm going to head down the Alcan highway with my new toy May 18th.

 

If someone can get him to the Tok cache or down to Anchorage by then I'll try to get him to the cache near Whistler Mountain down in BC.

we will be in an RV for 2 weeks wherever the wind blows (or wherever the GPS points us!), so of course we hope to hit a few of your caches out there. Maybe we can give some travel bugs a ride to somewhere ...
