m4nTiSke & Helga <3
Hej, When you log caches on the Etrex and afterwards you go to the Calendar function, you can see how many caches you have found/not found during a certain day. I was wondering if it was possible to transfer this data to a computer to use it in Exell or so... Is there a way? Is there a certain file I should be looking for? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
StefandD
Every cache you log is stored in the file geocache_visits.txt, which can be found in the \Garmin\ folder on your device. You can also use this file to upload your drafts (formerly known as Field Notes), which makes it easier to log your caches online. Quote Link to comment
m4nTiSke & Helga <3
Thanks! The *.txt file is what I needed. Normally I log everything via the app on my phone so the draft thing is not needed. This was mainly because a friend joined last minute and had no gps or mobile with him. Told him I would send him the data from my GPS... only forgot that I had never done that before. *shame* Quote Link to comment
Mineral2
did you just need a list of the caches visited for your friend to log? In the calendar, if you then proceed to click on the day, it will bring up a list of items/acitivities including the GC code of any geocaches found. But yes, the geocache_visits.txt can be imported to create drafts/field notes. And you can send it to your friend to upload and do the same. Though the file will contain all of your geocaching activity that you've done on your GPS since you last deleted the file. So you might want to open it up and delete all of the rows that do not correspond with the day you were out with your friend. Quote Link to comment
m4nTiSke & Helga <3
Yep, I know of the calendar. The problem was that we also did some Challenge caches and I have not logged all of them yet as I did not have so much time this weekend. He did and did not want to wait for me to log everything.
