DP113Geocacher
Soo... I made a geocache and I discovered that it had damage and took it away I could not put another container in due to moving away. So my geocache needs a new owner and container as I can't take care of it and don't want to delete it because it's my first geocache that I made and the same spot that I found my first geocache The geocache is located in Sauk City, WI. The code or whatever its name is GC61H5J Thank you DP113Geocacher Quote Link to comment

The new owner can change the owner name, change the description, change the hiding technique.....change everything but the code, and then archive it if they want to. If you want to preserve your first cache and remember it as it was, it's best that you archive it as opposed to adopting it out. Edited April 28, 2017 by L0ne.R Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
So my geocache needs a new owner and container as I can't take care of it Explaining the same as here on the cache page isn't Owner Maintenance.. No container, yet it isn't temp disabled either. On the bottom of that helpful Maintainance expectations page, notice the line that reads, "If you no longer want to maintain your cache, retrieve the container and archive your listing". It's possible that the spot is so awesome that someone might come forward on adoption for that spot. - But since they not only need to take over maintenance duties, but also replace a container not there, they'd probably just like to start from scratch on their own. +Manville Possum
Archive it and open up the area to another geocacher. It needs temp disabled because it's missing. Edited April 28, 2017 by Manville Possum Quote Link to comment

You did not perform "owner maintenance". 6.6. Temporarily disable and enable a geocache http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 You can temporarily disable your listing if the cache needs repairs or if the area is closed temporarily. If someone posts a "Needs Maintenance" log on your listing, perform maintenance and remove the "Needs Maintenance" icon before you enable your cache again. If your cache needs to be disabled for a longer time, explain why in a cache log. Community volunteer reviewers may archive listings that are disabled for an extended time with no explanation. If you decide not to replace a missing geocache, archive your listing. There's no container...what is there for someone to adopt? Nothing. You've moved away...archive it. It will still show in your profile. It's not fair to someone else to expect them to keep this set of coordinates "alive" for you. Maybe that location could be someone else's first cache. Help Center → Hide a cache → Ownership after publication 6.15. Archive a geocache http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=56 B. Quote Link to comment
